September 7th, Windows for Beginners
Do you do Windows? In this basic computer class trainer Patty Hoyt will teach you how to navigate around Windows interface. We will explore the desktop and learn how to use the task bar and start button, how to create and move files to organize your data, use the right click function of the mouse, and search for lost files.
October 5th, E-mail Basics
Are you interested in communicating online with friends, family and colleagues? You will learn how to address and send an email message. The class also covers replying to messages, forwarding messages to other people, and saving messages. To establish basic Internet messaging skills; editing, sending, receiving, reading, replying, deleting, undeleting, forwarding and saving messages as files. If there is time, we will cover the function of signature files, and create one.
November 2nd, Internet Searching for Beginners
The class is designed to give you a solid foundation and understanding of the use of different search engines. We will look at how they find results as well as learn specific techniques on how to narrow searches so you can find information quickly. This is a must if you find you are having difficulty locating information or narrowing your search on the internet. You will be amazed at the different search engines beyond Google. If time permits, we will cover the power that Google’s advanced search option has. Some basic computer skills will be helpful.
